this blog is really old! The baby has arrived and Karsen is 6 months. I'll update when i get a chance.

Random thoughts

Every time I notice a PG symptom or find that more of my clothes don't fit I totally go on to cloud 9 Nick is so loving my belly up its so sweet. I was telling him that he could have the big bedroom now if he wants, and he got so excited. He said "Now I'll have enough room to share with my baby!" I asked him if the baby should go in his little room, and he said no that it could stay with him so it wasn't scared by itself. I'm sure he'll change his mind about that after the baby arrives crying in the night and getting into his stuff

My MW called this morning and said the blood work for the NT came back, it looks great! I'm at very low risks! My next OB appt is tomorrow afternoon.

The last week I've been dreaming every night about BF, CD, slinging, and rocking this baby. I can't wait for the next 6m to go bye.

Sorry its all so late, I truly think I'm getting placenta brain when it comes to updating the blog.

The NT went great! The tec said the nuchal fold was perfect and is not enlarged at all. The mixed results with the bloodwork isn't completed yet, it has to be shipped to Illinois for processing. The baby has a strong heartbeat!!! And is cute as a button. I got to see it hiccup, wave, suck its thumb, it trying out its boxing moves and learning how to do its somersaults!!! We spent alot of time playing and watching the baby. The baby was very cooperative for the NT test but got restless when it was picture time, even still I think we got some pretty decent pictures for only being 12w. He wants me to come back for the level 2 at 20w, so only 7 weeks to go!

I was quite surprised to see this so early ....

Tomorrow it is

My NT u/s and bloodwork. At this point I'm not really worried about the results, I'm sure that part will come. I'm totally freaking out about the heartbeat. I'm so worried that it won't be there. I know it's normal after losses to feel like that, but is it normal to prepare myself for bad news? I feel really horrible for trying to decide what I will do and how to tell everyone if it goes bad tomorrow. WHy can't I just be normal and worry without having to prepare. Heck even better why can't I just not worry at all. Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel like something is wrong again. The cramps and contractions this early, I never had it with anyone of my other 3 pregnancies. My head feels all wrong, like it did during my pregnancy with Kassandra. Dizziness, spots, headaches, and this time my ears are affected.

I didn't want to bug my MB again tonight, I just needed to get it out.

I'm just to the point now that I don't even want to go. yesterday I was sooooooo excited to see the baby again. Now I feel like someone will need to drag me in there. SIGH It's at 9am so I guess I'll have to drag myself out of bed for it. I'm up way to late tonight, I really need my sleep.

I got to see baby again today!

I had my hospital followup and 2nd OB visit today. Despite being so sick I've gained weight since last month. BP is good. My lab looks great! My MW said on paper I don't even look like the same person today as last Saturday. She is very pleased how well I recuperated. (I think she was scared it was something other than food poising). She gave me a ton of baby magazines to take home, and a really cool pregnancy calender

We tried the Doppler again but we couldn't hear a thing. Of course my heart was jumping all over the place. She brought her u/s out and I got to see the baby again! his/her heart is beating just fine. Nick was sitting on my legs and thought it was the best thing ever! Now he wants to know if we can buy a "big camera" so we can see the baby at home. The baby was moving around so much we couldn't get a decent picture. I am having contractions but she said nothing to worry about yet.

XRay will be calling me about my Nuchal translucency screening . I'm 9 1/2w and it's usually done 10-12w.

My next OB appt is April 23.

AS soon as DH came home today I let Nick tell him what we did and who we saw. We are all so relived that the baby is doing fine. DH thought I found out the sex of the baby, I had to tell him It's WAY to early for that.

update

Today I'm feeling much better. The stomach ickyness has went away completely. But I still can't shake this feeling something is wrong with my head. Yesterday it was head rushes and today blurry vision. I also have some discharge that's very stringy. I'm sure it's just after effects from being that dehydrated. I'll see my Dr tomorrow. I'm going to see if we can sneak another peek at the baby. I hate taking medications during pregnancy.

I am up and about today, I was able to arrange to do some of my work from home. I just have to get my dishes done or I'll go nuts. But I am laying down whenever I can.

Despite all that I'm so happy to be home and not in the hospital. Also I really wished I could have gotten a picture of the baby on Saturday, it had grown so much in 3 weeks!

Day in the hospital

Sometime after 2am Saturday morning, I woke up with a bad urge to puke. I thought it was m/s so I tried some dry toast and juice. It didn't stay down. After that I had my head in the bucket every 10-30 minutes. By morning I couldn't even keep water down. Eventually bial (sp. the yellow earwax tasting stomach stuff) was all that came up. I was seeing stars, my head hurt terribly, I had contraction type cramps really low, and lots of pain in my cervix and my whole stomach.

I went to the hospital, and as I was walking to my room I got dizzy and would have fell down had my MW not been right there. They started an IV right away, and did bloodwork. They poked me 6x, because my veins kept bursting. MY white count was VERY high. My bladder was empty so they couldn't do a UA yet. We tried to listen for a heartbeat but there was none. She thought it was septic abortion (infected miscarriage). I had to wait an hour before I could get an u/s done. I was freaking out the entire time. I finally got it done, there was a wonderfully strong heart beat!!! The reason why we couldn't find it was because my uterus was far back.

They figured it was an in infection somewhere and probably food poising. I'm guessing the chicken snack wrap I ate at McDonald's the day before. The contractions was due to being so badly dehydrated. My BP was 87/ 41, my temp was also 97 both really low for me. The ended up giving me 5 bags of fluid, 2 antibiotics, tylenol, and some anti nausea medication several times. They almost kept me over night, but 9 pm I was able to keep something down. So they let me go home. I was sent home with 2 antibiotics and nausea med.

Yesterday, was a hard day. I didn't have much nausea but I had alots of dizziness. If I bent over or sat up too long I'd get a head rush. By late afternoon I felt like I had restless leg syndrome. My legs needed to be up and moving but my head wouldn't allow it.

Today. I'm feeling much better. I slept alot last night. My stomach and legs are fine, but my head still doesn't feel right. I have a followup appt on Wed. They did some lab cultures that should be back soon.
